Indecision?

I found my fabric for my Mono Sewn garment for this month’s Monthly Stitch challenge but I had a little problem choosing a pattern!

I have a solid black “Ponti de Roma” – 72% polyester, 28% rayon.

I also have a black and white “Barcelona” – 95% polyester, 5% spandex.

They would look great together!

I pulled out my Butterick B5554.  I’ll make view B!

Nice dress! Thanks, I made it!!

     Nope!

How about Butterick B4598, view A – a pattern my sister gave me.

Nice dress! Thanks, I made it!!

     Nope!

This pattern is more suitable for a linen, with it’s many pleats.

So I literally returned to the drawing board… What DID I want?

Nice dress! Thanks, I made it!!

     That’s better!

But now unfortunately, I might have run out of time, with the July challenge almost over and my dress half done, I have only one week left then I am away on vacation!

What should I do?

Where should I go and how should I get there?

One certainty though is that although I might not be able to blog for a couple of weeks,  I will be able to read your’s!  So keep creating and blogging!

And if I do manage to get this dress finished before the end of July and before I leave on my vacation, I will be sure to post!

Happy sewing!

P.S. Only image 2, 3, and 4, are mine… The rest are Google.

  1. Haha, I thought I was the only one leaving with a half finished dress or the prospect of sewing on the plane, lol! I finished mine yesterday, so I will have to post from holiday place, better pics perhaps then. I like Butterick B4598, won’t the pleats look nice on the ponti? It may not be as flowy but I think it will give it a nice effect! Have a nice time wherever you’re going! xx

    1. I’m looking forward to seeing your project! I have enough of the Ponti left, I think, to make a skirt with the pleats, so I think I will do that – of course, as usual, not in time for July’s Monthly Stitch challenge, but the challenge has inspired me! I am definitely finding the Barcelona too light for pleats. I hope to sneak in one more post before I leave, but it is going to be a busy week! You have a lovely vacation yourself!

  2. Funny and cute post. You have left us with an end of season cliff-hanger. I’m reading, looking at the material, looking at the pattern, love the black print, then seeing your drafting (not sure if that’s the correct word) and wondering; “Yes, what is she going to do.” You’ll have to let us know what the final decision is?

Have a great vacation. I’m sure it is well deserved. Is there anything sewing – related planned?

    1. Oh I am hoping, fingers crossed, to squeeze in the Final Post! Thank you! And I am vacationing with very strange people…. They don’t SEW!! 😳

  3. I know for a fact that the people you’re visiting are LOVELY and that one of them can sew (poorly) if there’s no way she can get out of it! 🙂
PS Can’t wait to see you!!!

    1. Hahaha… Can’t wait to see you all!

  4. Have fun on your vacation – can’t wait to see how the dress turns out.

    1. Thank you! I can’t wait to get it done neither! 😄

  5. Tell me all about ponti de Roma please! What is this fabric that I keep seeing people rave about?? And, BTW, Happy Vacation!!

    1. I’ve got one more post to do on this dress – I’ll add your question in there, just in case someone else might be wondering too! My vacation is going great, thanks! and Thanks for reading and commenting!
