Honey, I’m home!

As I mentioned before in my previous post – my day long shopping trip in Vancouver with my sister has ended – very successfully!  After 1.5 hours on the ferry to Vancouver, lots of driving from here to there and lots and lots of fondling of fabric, I can happily show you my treasures!

Nice dress! Thanks, I made it!!

First off, a beautiful rich brown for some dress pants for the office perhaps?

(67% polyester, 30% rayon, 3% spandex)

This royal blue could be sewed up into some summer pants, next summer I mean!

(67% rayon, 29% polyester, 4% spandex)

This one is a Tensel Denim – which is explained here.  I have enough for a full skirted jean dress.

(60% cotton, 40% tensel)

This fabric I could just DIE for!  Again I have enough for a full skirted dress.

(100% rayon)

We found this pinkish stiff fabric in the bargain section – hopefully I can make a short jacket out of it.

I think it had 80% silk on the smudged label.  It feels like silk.

The minute we saw this fabric we both said “I’m not a purple person”.  But it felt so fine, we bought it.

It would make a beautiful skirt and would probably match the pinkish silk jacket perfectly!

(65% polyester, 32% rayon, 3% spandex)

Well those purchases should keep me busy for the next year (ya, right!).  Let me leave you with a couple of photos of the view I enjoyed from the ferry coming home.

Imagine… 1.5 hours each way of this…  just beautiful!

For the first time, ever since I started taking the ferry as a child, the Captain announced that there was a pod of Killer Whales off the starboard side.  Suddenly every window on the starboard side was full of passengers.  I managed to get a peek, but no photos – sorry!  It was quite a sight!

Oh yes, I noticed Fabricana carries Sewaholic patterns, and some Jalie patterns too, if anyone prefers shopping in person to shopping on line.

Well I should go, it’s getting late, Happy Sewing to you!

  1. Those fabrics are gorgeous! Wow what a view with those mountains in the background and the sailboats. Just beautiful 🙂 I can’t wait to see what you make with your fabrics.
