Or, perhaps maybe I am …

Of course, the only reason Canadians have Thanksgiving is to “celebrate the harvest and other blessings of the last year”.  I don’t have a harvest, but every Thanksgiving our family says “Thank you” for what we have.  This weekend is Thanksgiving weekend in Canada and my list to “Be Thankful” for is very long – but then I am always one to add more to my Be Thankful list than my “What a Bummer” list …

One thing on my Be Thankful list is the number of wonderful sewists, bloggers, Instgrammers, Fabric companies and Pattern makers out there that make my hobby so much more interesting.

Now on that topic, you might have seen a flurry of weird activity on my part on you blog today.  It seems for about a month or two I haven’t been getting my usual email notifications that you have posted something new (on my Bummer list!)  I wasn’t sure if it was an iPad problem, as I always use my iPad and only occasionally use my laptop.  I also only occasionally look at the WordPress Reader to find out what you have been working on.  More often than not, I sit on the bus to work and back (now 1.5 hours each way – on my Bummer list!), reading emails with copies of your new posts that are sent to me.  I haven’t been getting those emails and have been wondering if anyone else out there is actually blogging anymore!

Imagine my surprise this morning when I checked my settings, after about an hour of reading up on the problem, and found that indeed my settings had changed and I wasn’t getting email notifications of new posts!  I am months behind in my reading!

The problem is fixed now, I think …

So back to Thanksgiving – thank you for giving me lots of lovely blog posts to read!  Sure I’m on Instagram and like looking at the wonderful photos there but it’s always lovely to read all the details – the good, the bad and the ugly!

And in a traditional Canadian way – the only further curses I can add is to say – STUPID iPad/Wordpress!  LOL

And if you’ve missed it, like I have missed so many of your posts in the last month or two (so sad), don’t forget to check out my first Designin’ December 2018 post.  Those wonderful generous sponsors are rolling in – more on that later – in the meantime, have you chosen your Designin’ December Original?

I have … this Oscar de la Renta Fall 2018 …

Nice dress! Thanks, I made it!!

Looking forward to reading up on all your sewing projects!  I’ll leave you with one last stolen Google image …

  1. Linda I loved the Peanuts cartoon, it reminded me that some people like Tofurky which is a tofu turkey, no drumsticks, just a funny looking round thing. Other people like Turducken which is chicken stuffed into duck stuffed into turkey (all deboned of course). Something for everyone, 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

    1. Yes, I think that would cover everyone’s tastes – although I think I want Turducken now … just because it’s such a great word to say! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family too!

  2. Ah, that explains why you followed me again. My husband was so excited that we had a new follower but I knew you already were so I was very confused! I think I’ve chosen my Designing December original. I’m on the hunt for suitable fabric now. I love the challenge but have never managed to participate so I’m hoping to change that this year!

    1. Sorry for the confusion and it is so nice to see people popping up in my emails again! Sometimes the fabric hunt is most of the challenge! 😂😂 I’ll be watching for your DD contribution! 😁👍

  3. That Peanuts cartoon is the best! Funny about the settings changing, but at least you’ve resolved the problem. Happy Thanksgiving! Still fussing over Designin December. I’m going simple this year – hah!

    1. Gotta love his “woof”! Well even your “simple” is lovely, I’m looking forward to seeing it!

  4. Happy Thanksgiving Day and thank you for that heads up about followers. Will be checking my settings. Haven’t seen any designer items I’d want to copy, but one never knows. Perhaps this will be the year I do! Meanwhile, enjoy your feast and thanks to you for such interesting blog postings! 🍂🍁🍂

    1. Thank you! Some designers don’t just do the “wild, impractical” stuff – maybe you will find something you love to have!

  5. Happy (belated) Thanksgiving to you and yours! I am certainly thankful for you, and for your willingness to share your creativity with all of us. 🙂

As for Designin’ December, I have my inspiration and just need to do a dye test to confirm that I can replicate it with what I have–fingers crossed!!

    1. Oh my! Such nice words! Thank you! I will keep my fingers crossed too for your DESIGNIN’ December creation – you’re using dye! 😁👍

  6. Happy Belated Thanksgiving! Every week I make a vow to do my YouTube watching/blog reading while I’m on either the treadmill or the bike and some weeks I’m more successful that others. There’s so much great stuff to read and watch in the sewing community!

I’ll start thinking about Designing December. There are some nice pieces of fabric in my stash and they should be used for something special …

    1. Thank you! I must have messed up something with my settings but all’s good now! Good luck with Designin’ December!

  7. Ooooh! Beautiful choice for Designin’ December! Can’t wait to see your project.

    1. Thank you! I have my fingers crossed with the tunic top! 🤔
