Designin’ December 2020 Update!

We have our first three entries now!  Let me show them to you!

First on Instagram @mountaintopsewing – who used Chanel as her inspiration and made a Designer Copy of this Jacket and top, complete with bag, bling and nail polish!

Next, we have @intostitches, on Instagram, who used a Burberry trench coat as the inspiration for her Designer Copy!

And next, we have @seamracer and although this is an Instagram photo too, she has more information about her Dolce & Gabbana/Versace Designer Copy on her blog, as well as her Instagram.  Here’s the link to Seam Racer for more photos and all the details of her work!

How is your Designin’ December Designer Copy coming along?  Mine?  Well I have my top cut out and now I am not thrilled with the fabric purchased for the skirt.  But instead of spending more money on fabric, I do like my fabric, I am going to change from making the skirt to making these Balenciaga trousers, which are more suitable for my fabric.  The skirt fabric, in my mind, had to be heavier and floral with a beige background, not a draping solid blue.  Better I switch to the trousers!  There is still lots of time!

  1. This is exciting seeing the designs and the inspiration behind the designs.

    1. Yes, I think it’s fabulous that sewists can see something they like and make it for themselves! 🤩

  2. Linda, I like the way you changed gears when you decided the fabric wasn’t right for the skirt. Can’t wait to see the finished product–that’s always the best part when we see the contestants modeling their designs.

    1. Thanks! Slowly but surely we shall all get it accomplished 😁💕

  3. Eagerly waiting to see all the inspired entries!

    1. Me too! 😊 Are you joining in this year? You always have such beautiful technique with your creations. ❤️
