These are handmade doubled layered, pre-washed to avoid shrinking, 100% cotton non-surgical fabric face masks in two styles – Traditional and Origami.
Both styles have an option to put a filter inside. Coffee filters, paper towels or blue shop cloths can be used as filters.
Both styles are available with either elastic loops around the ears OR cotton ties.
Both styles DON’T have a seam over your mouth – for extra protection.
The Traditional style is pleated, with ties OR elastic ear loops, and a filter pocket. It also has a channel to insert “wire” over the bridge of your nose for a closer fit. It can be sewn with any of the colours/prints shown on this page.
The Origami style has two pleats on the inside and appears flat on the outside, with ties OR elastic ear loops, and a filter pocket. It is more fitted over the nose and under the chin so it doesn’t need a “wire” over the bridge of your nose. It can be sewn with any of the colours/prints shown on this page.
Many additional colours/prints are available besides what is shown on this page. CONTACT ME FOR DETAILS ABOUT COLOUR/PRINT, STYLE, TIES OR ELASTIC LOOPS.
CARE: Before washing, remember to take out the filter and nose “wire”, if you use those. Wash in hot water and, if possible, in a laundry bag to protect the ties, or boil with a drop of laundry soap. Masks with ties can be put in the dryer or laid flat to dry. Masks with elastic ear loops should be laid flat to dry. Masks must be dried thoroughly.
COST: minimum $10 donation per mask please (coupons not accepted) to my June 2020 Victoria Virtual Walk to End ALS site – donate here. It’s only with your help that there will be a cure for ALS. Thank you!
IMPORTANT NOTE: These masks are only sold in Canada. Due to the choice of styles, colours/prints, ties/elastic, charity donation as payment and postage/delivery details during the Covid-19 pandemic, these items are NOT sold through my Shop but SOLD BY CONTACTING ME BY EMAIL AT LANYOSHANDMADE@GMAIL.COM. Thank you!
MEDICAL RECOMMENDATIONS: Remember nothing will ever replace physical distancing, proper hand washing and proper cleaning, but if you would like to wear a mask:
Wash your mask upon receipt.
Put on and adjust your mask BEFORE you go out, and then don’t touch it.
When you return, wash your hands and take your mask off without touching your face. Your mask goes in the wash, without the filter and “wire”, in a laundry bag. Your hands are washed again and everything you touched on the way in or brought in with you is washed.
No fabric face mask will protect you from sickness. Keeping a physical distance, washing your hands and cleaning around you does. A fabric face mask will prevent your germs from getting on someone else.
