#MMMay18 … and a bit of tidying up! …

Hello All!  👋😁 I’m back!  I had a lovely week off work during which I got a lot of “work” done!

I signed up for #MMMay18 this year and now that it is pretty much over I thought I’d give you my version.  The last time I signed up for #MMMay15, I took frantic photos every day of my me-made garments.  This #MMMay18, I decided to not take photos every day, but to learn what I had in my closet and what I should make.  Are my sewing plans on track?

I did #MMMay15 around the same time I started my RTW fast.  For three years I have only purchased things that I can’t sew – like footwear, undergarments, socks, knitted things …

When I analyzed my wardrobe this #MMMay18 I found at least 60 me-made items.  You’ve seen them all here before.  You don’t have to see them all again!

Instead, I wanted to analyze what’s needed … I took everything me-made out of my closet and tossed it on the bed. (The cats loved it! 🐈🐈)

TOPS?  There certainly are enough and many prints to choose from.
Seven black print
Three brown print
Six blue print
Three red print
Don’t seem to have much green in my wardrobe. Not many solid coloured tops neither!

JACKETS AND CARDIGANS?  Looks like I didn’t include one or two here.

Six – plus a couple missing

DRESSES?

Eight dresses – forgot to include my recently made orange dress and my blue dress.

PANTS/TROUSERS AND SKIRTS?  Lots to wear with my tops.

Five pants/trousers.
Five skirts
Five print skirts

I bagged up the few pieces I don’t wear anymore and from all this decided that I seriously don’t have any me-made casual clothes – tops yes, but sweatshirts, shorts, joggers, yoga pants or cargo pants … no.  Another pair of jeans would be nice too, as I only have one me-made pair.  Maybe some solid coloured tees to go with my new casual clothes?

I would also love to make a couple of jackets or light coats too.  I have a me-made heavy winter coat and a light denim style jacket, but something in between, for the spring/fall months would be nice.

Do you have any pattern suggestions to share?

Then I decided to continue my organizing into my fabric stash.  I bagged up the scraps, short pieces and anything that I had no plans for using – such as anything pure white!  I ended up giving a large bag of fabric away.

I checked and updated my fabric inventory list carefully.  When sewing new projects it is difficult for me to keep track of what I have actually used and what’s leftover.  I feel really organized now though, knowing exactly what I need to make and what I have in my stash to make it!

I found a few UFOs too!  Those have been moved to the top of the “sewing to do list”.
I went from 6 bins down to 5 and the pink one is all bag fabric!
Do you keep track of your fabric stash?  Please tell us how?

While I was off work I also met up with my sister for a walk to the Victoria Harbour Ferry Ballet.

I thought I’d share some photos with you …
The views along our walk.

The Victoria Harbour Ferry Ballet – tiny ferries in a confined space dancing to classical music!

Docked in front of the Empress Hotel.
The walk through Fan Tan Alley in Chinatown.

The Red Door. I wonder what’s on the other side?

Happy Sewing!

STASH BUSTING WITH THIS PROJECT?  I don’t know if donations count (hopefully they do!) but I used to have 134.5 metres and now I’m down to 132 metres – and it’s been inventoried!
