So, to start … I have to tell three things about myself:
I have too much fabric for my liking! Every purchase was originally made with a specific project in mind – so I don’t just buy fabric “willy-nilly”. Unfortunately along the way I might have decided that I don’t want that dress, or whatever, after all … so now I have some fabric without a plan for it. Not something I’m comfortable with!
I used to have one cat, Tigger, who passed away in her old age. She was quite loving and a dear addition to our household. So I went to the SPCA to get another cat. A pregnant mom cat had just been rescued from a life on the streets and 6 weeks after she gave birth, she and her three kittens were up for adoption. I visited and couldn’t walk away without the two of them – Simon and Sophie. (Their mother and one sibling had already been adopted.) Support your SPCA!
I work full time and spend a ridiculous amount of time commuting. I spend my time on the bus reading blogs, looking at Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest – anything regarding sewing! I have recently downloaded an app that will allow me to plan and draw with precision my bag patterns – something I love doing as I have always been a “bag nut”!
Now to answer Seam Racer’s questions:
- What everyday tool could you not live without?
My sewing machines. I have two functional toy ones, a Necchi and a Singer. I have two sewing machines that still need fixing up, my Ford deluxe and my White. I have six functional sewing machines: My Janome 3160QDC, my Janome MyLock 334 Serger, my Singer 15-88 called “Ilona”, my Singer 500 called “Barbie”, my Singer 421G called “Amber” and my Singer Feathweight 221 called “Winnie”. I almost recently bought a Necchi Supernova but I wasn’t able to find a place for it’s large cabinet in my home! So I changed my mind. Maybe if I just bought the machine and not the cabinet? 🤔
- Do you have a preferred heel height for your shoes?
No longer than my index finger, whatever that is! That’s how I measure heel height in stores. It has to be shorter than my index finger. But seriously, I don’t buy shoes often – sewing machines, Yes!, shoes, No! 👠
- What is next on your “bucket list”?
To go on vacation in a cabin in the woods by a lake with a wharf. My husband fishing and me sewing, taking photographs, and reading and writing … for the rest of my life! I could handle that! 🚣♂️
- Who makes you laugh the most?
My adult children. They have grown up to be fine, responsible adults, and they sure can make me laugh. 😆
- Is there a pet that you wish you could have?…no limit!
One pet? Not fair. I have a couple of cats that keep each other company and are fun to watch, so I think a couple of dogs would be wonderful for the same reasons! 🐕 🐕
Nominate bloggers I feel deserve the award – in no particular order – I would like to introduce:
Let’s get to know each other! Here are five questions for my nominees to answer:
- If you won a lottery what would you buy first?
- Do you like turnips?
- Who started you with sewing?
- How many sewing/serger/coverstitch machines do you have, what kind are they and what are their names (if they have names)?
- What was the worst sewing project you ever worked on and why?
Thank you Seam Racer! And thank you to those I nominated who wish to play along!
Happy Sewing!
