You probably already know that I have decided on my “top”, this Fendi Jacket is my inspiration. This was an obvious choice for me as I LOVE colour blocking and I LOVE topstitching! I am hacking a McCalls Pattern M6657 to include my colour blocking/topstitching. I gave a generous amount when cutting out my upper bodice, as I am not quite sure where I want to divide the pattern yet!

I’m think I am going to make a pair of jeans too, more topstitching – WHOO HOO! – and hopefully I’ll be able to get the jacket and the jeans done before the December 31st deadline! I browsed a bunch of on-line designer Shops and found these styles. Apparently straight leg, wide leg and skinny jeans are all still “in fashion” 🙂 Lucky me! I have plenty of styles to choose from!

Then I saw this – WOWZERS – topstitching AND COLOUR BLOCKING! It’s perfect!!!

Although I am still not sold on what style my jeans should be, I know that they MUST not only have topstitching, but COLOUR BLOCKING too! Checking my pattern stash I found these two pattens, by two of our Indie Prize Sponsors, no less! If you click on the photo, you should be able to see the pattern details in their Shops. The Helen’s Closet Arden pants have a lovely elastic waist band and an option NOT to put elastic in the cuffs. The Itch to Stitch Eddystone Jeans have the traditional jeans style yoke and pockets and also a Demi Boot fit. I have lots of options, so many … what should I choose!
