You’ll have to excuse me… changing shop providers means I have to save all those wonderful photos on my blog now. Here are all the great Sage Satchel photos! The testers did a fabulous job with this pattern. They are a really talented bunch of sewists. I can’t imagine not being able to display photos of their work somewhere!
In case you don’t know her, the Sage is a PDF sewing pattern. She has a finished size of approximately 12 1/2″ wide x 3″ deep x 9″ tall (32 cm x 7.5 cm x 23 cm). She is fully lined, with TWO large compartments, ONE large divider zippered pocket in the middle, TWO zippered pockets with zipper overlays and TWO slip pockets. There is also a large pocket on the front and a Key Holder Strap inside. You have a choice of a two tone adjustable cross body strap or a Short Handle, or both, that can be sewn two ways. As usual with Lányos Handmade patterns, you can choose which features, accents, and materials (cotton? canvas? vinyl? cork?) you wish!
I design all my patterns on my domestic Janomes, a MC8200QCP SE or a HD3000, not on industrial sewing machines, although some of my testers use industrial machines. I aim to make products that don’t need an industrial machine.
Why did I design the Sage? I am not a “big bag” person, but I needed a bag that let me be hands-free, but also let me carry EVERYTHING I needed when travelling! So I designed a big bag with lots of organization! Problem solved! 🤩 She was super handy when I last flew to Calgary!
