Here’s a peek at all the testers’ makes! I am EXTREMELY GRATEFUL for all the support and help I get from my testers, reviewing and sewing my patterns to make sure they are grammatically correct, the “lefts” and the “rights” haven’t been messed up, photos and diagrams are in the right place, SVG files work for them. Seriously never trust a pattern that hasn’t had testers, because we are all human!
The Tessa II Bag is a refresh of pattern I created years ago. Now it has TWO sizes bundled in the pattern, one Tablet sized and one Cell phone sized. I also set it up as a Beginner’s Learning pattern. Each time you make it you can choose a different technique!
Techniques to learn and master:
- perfect zipper tab corners;
- perfect corners with one zipper tab and one “bent end” zipper;
- 5 strap styles;
- 5 pocket styles (Magnetic Snap Pockets, Zipper Pockets with Zipper Overlays, Slip Pockets, Zipper Pockets and 6 to 12 Vertical Card Slot Pockets).
As usual, all my sewing patterns are designed and sewn on my domestic machines: my Janome HD3000 or my Janome MC8200QCP SE. I have a couple of vintage Singers too, a 500 Rocketeer and a 421G, that I sew bags on … just to make life interesting!
Why did I design the Tessa? Well originally I wanted a bag that would hold my iPad, wallet and phone. When I refreshed the pattern, I figured I would add an option for a smaller size, just for my cell phone, keys, cards, etc. Then I thought, why not turn it into a “learning” pattern with a lot of possible options!
