Join the Designin’ December Sewing Challenge 2024!

9th year now and counting! Have you tried the #designinDecember Sewing Challenge? We have a lot of prize sponsors lined up for you and I can’t wait to see what you talented people sew up!

What are you going to sew up this year ? Do you have a Fashion Designer that inspires you? Find a photo of a Design that you like, find a pattern and a fabric that you love and sew it up! You might win a prize!

I’ve already decided on my top – I love this style of jean jacket! Fendi is my inspiration. I do like the skirt too, but I’m not really in need of a skirt right now… how about a pair of jeans or pants? I’ll have to browse a few more Designers to find my inspiration for those!

I already have my jacket cut out, complete with colour blocking. It looks a bit goofy in pieces like this but I think it’s going to work out just fine! I’ve got a vintage McCalls pattern that has seen many “hacks” and has served me well over the years! 🙂

Not sure about the “bottoms” yet though … jeans? pants? which Designer? which pattern?? which fabric?? I’ll have to browse the internet and think on that one still!

Start looking for your “Designer Original Inspiration”. Gather up your patterns and fabrics and be inspired to make your own “Designer Copy”. Did I say there are prizes????

• BLOG PARTICIPATION: Follow this blog and leave a comment that you’re joining in. On your Blog, post a photo of your “Designer Original Inspiration” with the Designer’s name and your finished “Designer Copy”, mentioning the DESIGNIN’ DECEMBER Sewing Challenge in your post with a link back here.
• INSTAGRAM PARTICIPATION: Follow me at @lanyoshandmade.nicedressthanks RIGHT HERE! On your IG, post a photo of your “Designer Original Inspiration” with the Designer’s name and your finished “Designer Copy”,  tagging it #DESIGNINDECEMBER and #DESIGNINDECEMBER2024 and @lanyoshandmade.nicedressthanks
• Remember: Use the two hashtags and follow/tag my Blog or IG! Whether you have made it already, are in the process of making it, or plan on making it … LET ME KNOW! 🙂
• For the final voting after DECEMBER 31st, voting will take place both on my Blog and on my Instagram, I will repost one of your entries: your “Designer Original Inspiration” with the Designer’s name and your finished “Designer Copy”, with a link back to you. Votes will be counted from both my Blog and my Instagram.
