Have I told you already that I LOVE topstitching!
For the #designinDecember sewing challenge, I am hacking a McCalls Pattern M6657 to include colour blocking and topstitching, similar to what you can see in my inspiration “Designer Photo” on the left, a Fendi Fall 2024 RTW.

I wasn’t too sure where I wanted the colour blocking to land, so I cut the whole Front and Back out of my dark blue denim and was overly generous when cutting out my light blue denim. I did end up trimming the excess light blue down to start the curve under the armhole on both the Front and the Back. I rounded the curve off nicely with my French Curve ruler. Yes, I know my curve is opposite their’s … I just liked it better! 🙂

I pressed up the curved edge easily with my “hot hemmer” and sewed the curved hems up.

Topstitching along the seams wasn’t difficult, but I did manage to get a bit wobbly! LOL No problem, I just picked out the wobbly part of the topstitching and pulled the thread ends through to the wrong side. A knot and a dab of Fray Check ensures the ends stay!
Topstitching done …. but I just want to do MORE! Should I? I’m sure I could sew a lovely design in with my Topstitching! But is there enough time??

I love topstitching too! Your outfit will look positively lovely! I’m embarrassed to say I just taped together my Itch to Stitch pattern yesterday. December is always a crazy month, but I’m determined to get my me made design done.
Thank you very much! 😊Well don’t panic, now’s not the time for that! 🤗Keep in mind if it doesn’t get finished this year I’d still love to see it and share it for next year’s #designinDecember sewing challenge. (The entry’s can be made any time during the year and be included in that year’s challenge.) Happy Holidays to you!
Thank you so much Linda! Happy Holidays to you and yours.
