How is your Designin’ December planning going?
I’ve got my jeans pattern and fabric worked out. I think! I am inspired by this Etro embroidered skinny jean design. I can use my Helen’s Closet Arden pants pattern and my light-weight light blue denim to make them. These items were in my stash so I was pretty lucky there. With the embroidery though I am not sure which colour topstitching thread to use, if I use topstitching thread at all! I do have some “jeans” thread that is the right shade of medium blue to contrast this light blue denim and I also have some Gutermann “Dekor” thread – don’t know where that came from! – it’s a brillant blue! I’ll have to sew up some samples and share them with you so we can decide!
Now for my blouse. I have my inspiration from Etro again and I have my fabric from my stash again. I am not sure what kind of fabric this is as I have had it for a long time. I’m very pleased with it though! It feels wonderful, like satin!
When it comes to blouse patterns, I have these three to choose from… The first is probably good. I would have to change the button front to a “key hole” opening. The second, well I’m not even sure why I pulled it out. The third seems nice, but I can’t see any details on the long sleeve version because of the busy fabric. Why did they choose that fabric?
I also found these dress patterns that might be close to the key hole blouse I need. Don’t you just LOVE that price! $3.25! The first one seems perfect, it would just need shortening obviously. The second one … well … I can’t tell from the drawing what it is supposed to look like really.
Looks like I need a bit more research and thought! 🙂
